Do you put branded / character clothing on your children?

Do you dress your children in Disney clothes, in tv show outfits , only use brand names ? Why or why not?

  • I hate character clothes- especially shoes! We do have a few because of gifts or whatever. Just t-shirts that are good to play in. As far as name-brand, thats not a big deal. As long as it looks trendy and cute I don't care where it came from. I buy dd a lot of clothes- since its so much easier to spend money on lots of kids clothes rather than one shirt for me or something. I go to Childrens Place and Target mostly- but I also like Gap, Old Navy, Gymboree (when there is a good sale), Kohls, and even walmart I'll find something. I also do consignment shops.

  • I will put branded clothing (gap old navy or whatever , but I don't actively seek out brands , I normally ONLY shop in second hand shops or consigment shops and just choose what I like .
I despise Character clothes - my children do have some (mostly disney) that were gifts , they don't wear them much.

  • Only if it was a hand-me-down. I never buy things with logos on them. I just think it looks bad. I don't wear them myself either.

  • I do not on purpose. My mil and fil send them TONS of clothes that are Oshkosh and Carters... But I wouldn't purposely only buy those things and when our kiddos get older, we will definitely stay in control of what they wear, if they want something outrageous, they can pay for it with allowance money etc. I do think it a parent's responsibility that their child be adequately clothed... Anything above that is a preference but for our home not necessary.

  • my child has disney clothes. some i hve bought and some i got from yard sales the summer before she was born. its amazing what nice stuff you can get at yardsales. and i plan on going yard saling for her this summer too. why pay the over priced stores if i can get the same damn thing that looks just as good for almost nothing. last summer i bought her a really nice suede tinker bell winter coat at a yard sale for two dollars it was brand new and she will probably be able to wear it next winter too

  • He wears some Character and brand clothes, however, most of his clothing comes from Walmart or Target. He tears through clothes too fast to have expensive clothing. And my daughter grows out of her clothes too fast for anything pricey. Occasionally I will hit a sale somewhere, but most of what I don't buy at a discount department store comes second hand.

  • I do most of my clothes shopping for DD at Kohl's, WalMart and TRU. I'm not a brand whore, but I do like Carters. I do like thrift store shopping as well but I'm finding it hard to find clothes in her size. As for characters, I'm not a huge fan but she does have a few.
