Does anyone have mortgage companies that they recommend or don't recommend?

Husband and I are looking to buy a home, not first time, not va, not fha, but a forclosed home. We are looking into mortgage companies now and need to find a good mortgage company. I don't mind so much about the rate as long as its not ridiculously higher than others, but I more so care about customer service, bill pay options, and reliability. I've found countrywide to compeltely stink and be unacceptable, so I'm looking elsewhere now. Any suggestions on do's or don'ts would be greatly appreciated! THANKS!

  • I would recommend a brokerage.....brokers almost ALWAYS have lower rates as far as wholesale vs retail (the lenders). Plus they can shoot your loan scenerio to a plethora of lenders. There aren't as many to choose from these days though. Fifth Third is a good lender. If you have more questions shoot me an email... Also shop around!!!! Just make sure that you are not having each bank or broker pull your credit every time. This can seriously hurt your credit scores.

  • I recomend just researching as best as you can. We kind of rushed into it and went with the first approval we got and then they raped us with all these fees which were REDIC!!! .....It seems like youre already starting your research but go into these places and talk to people get INFO and obviously don't sign anything until you've done all you're research. gluck!! xoxo
