  • Agree with the above posts...Old fashion or not...The man should ask the woman.
    I belive in that and I will teach my girls that.
    If a man wants you he will ask you...no need to do it yourself.

  • No, but we talked about it and went ring shopping together...once I picked out an engagement ring I knew it was imminent, just didn't know when...that was the fun part!

    P.S. I LOVED how my husband got down on bended knee in the middle of a full restaurant on Valentine's Day to ask me (and he had already given me my Valentine's Day present, so I was totally caught off guard)! My husband is not someone who seeks to be the center of attention, so that was HUGE...he was shaking and so nervous...but I thought it was sooooo sweet! :O)
