What's the glucose test screening for?

Is it screening for the mother's chance of developing diabetes or the baby's? I've tried reading up on it but I can't get a clear answer.

  • It's for you. If you have gestational diabetes, chances are your baby will be oversized at birth if your condition goes ignored. If you turn up positive most moms can control it with diet and have an average to large, healthy baby. That's the reason they test for GB. If you do have it, your condition will return back to normal after the birth.
