Sitz bath. Yes or no?

I am thirty weeks pregnant and found out I've developed hemroids (gross!) and have been told sitz baths help. Anyone have any luck with them?

  • it is worth trying... can't make it worse can it?

  • I was told to take them, but not for hemorrhoids. It didn't do anything for me, so after a few, I stopped.

  • I never got hemorrhoids, but after birth it was a life saver. Did they tell you to put something in it?

  • I've just heard that baking soda helps tons.

  • Tucks Pads work like a charm.

  • My 'rhoids aren't too bad so I just keep them clean.

After I gave birth, though, a sitz bath was SO wonderful!!! It was so soothing and cleansing. Try it on your 'rhoids - it just might help. If nothing else, you'll be clean, right?

  • hi. i had them big time when i was pregnant. bad news is you might have them worse afterwards if you deliver the child naturally. yes, sitz baths are helpful. esp after an episiotomy (sp?). also, witch hazel pads and preparation H may help, just keep using it.. good luck!
