why do people think when you ask a question it's always personal

I posted a question some days back and it wasn't personal just asking out of boredom. How come people just can't ask regular question without people assuming it's you?

  • Are you talking about me? Just kidding : )
I don't know..maybe they're just overly sensitive at the moment.

  • I'd say that if it happened a few days should let it go already : )

  • I don't know, but I get what you're saying. I post questions sometimes out of boredom, or curiosity, not actual personal problems. Then, I forget about them for a few days before I go to check the answers.

  • People assume they are personal because you are the one asking and posting it.

My advice is if it isn't personally related to you (e.g. sensitive topic) and you think you may receive some negative feedback then post it as Anonymous.
