What can I do for New Year's Eve drinks and snacks for my kids...

My two girls (9 and 12) are going to try and stay up until midnight tonight with me. Does anyone have any ideas on some fun drinks or snacks I can make them to celebrate tonight. Want to make this fun for them.

  • Welch's sparkling cider (kid's usually like it b/c it looks like champagne) and any kind of Chex mix.

  • Apple Cider or Grape juice with cool Champagne glasses. Finger foods would be easy or order pizza. Have a great night!

  • I hadn't even though of that. We are having my husband's brothers over so noone goes out drinking and driving tonight, so I'm sure we will be loud enough to keep the kids awake. I better go hit the store for some juice and kiddie snacks.

  • New years Eve always includes lots of chips and dip here. # 1 dip at our house. One can rosarita spicy refried beans in a microwave safe bowl. Add almost a cup of your favorite chunky salsa. Stir. We like Newmans Own Medium. Nuke for 1-1 1/2 mins. Stir again. serve with tortilla chips.

#2 16oz sour envelope Lipton Onin soup mix. Stir together well Refrigerate at least four hours. Great for any potato chip..although my kids loved it on Friots too.

  • I do a "margarita" non-alchoholic for my son that he loves. Full of juice, cherries or strawberries and margarita mix in the blender with chipped ice. He loves it. Fun to drink.
Chex mix idea is always good, or even homemade nacho's. Brown a lb. of sausage or hamb., add velveeta and one can of routelle (sp?), and heat it all up! Then offer fresh raw veggies and dip. A full party meal!
