I have read only one book about Islam, a non-fic book called Veil of Terror, by a woman who lived in the middle east (Betty Balsam). Unfortunately, it was not a very positive shedding of light onto Islam.
Most of the book talked about Islamic treatment of women and how that affected men, and the second half was about the history of Islam itself.

I've been reading a lot and honestly Islam is just too rigid and has to many do this and don't do that things about it. I don't think God expects us to have to jump through so many hoops just to please him. I've also been studying Christianity and it's becoming more appealing to me. I'm drawn to the mercy and grace of God factor. The unconditional love. I had a really bad dream the other night, maybe because I've been thinking about it a lot lately, I don't know. But in my dream, I had these women that appeared to be Muslim on either side of me. They were trying to force a hijab onto my head and drag me into a Mosque. I was fighting them with everything I had. It was frightening. I woke up shaking. I'm not sure what it meant or what to think of it. I've been reading the Bible more and it's starting to make more sense to me than the Koran. I even tried listening online to it and it's just too confusing. The Bible is easier to read and understand.
