  • not sure about a drunk holiday but there sure is a higher number of people consuming alcohol on this day. Drink responsibly but that's hard for some =-(

  • Well, I just believe there are more drunks on the road during this time. I don't think it's necessarily and "drunk holiday". We don't drink so I don't associate drinking for use with New Years.

  • It use to be for me when I was young and no children! Now I just have a glass of wine or two and enjoy the family!

  • lol, i think a lot of people use it as an excuse to get wasted.
    me, however, i enjoy the OTHER festivities... like at a church in my neighborhood tonight they are having a couples only dance! No children around, no alcohol, but music and dancing. (yes, I said dancing!)

  • Absoutely, just like St. Patrick's Day. People use it more as an excuse to get drunk than truly celebrate the incoming year.
