  • Southern Living's Garden Book. It has good detailed descriptions of the plants and which of the zones they will do best in. It is specific for the Southeast.

  • Damrosch’s Garden Primer. The Rose Bible, by Rayford Clayton Reddell. Passalong Plants by Steve Bender and Felder Rushing. Gardening with Heirloom Seeds: Tried-and-True Flowers, Fruits & Vegetables for a New Generation by Lynn Coulter.
