Too Much Reading?

My ten year old gifted son loves to read more than anything in the world but family members and friends keep making comments about him being a bookworm instead of a jock (his uncle and other family members do sports well) even though he does spend some time outside riding his bike, walking and running around. My son just isn't into sports much but is into reading for knowledge!

  • Good for your son. My son is now 28 years old. He is a BRAIN! He was reading newspapers at 4 years old. He graduated from college 18 months early with a 4.3 GPA. He was NOT a jock by any stretch of the imagination. Sports just didn't interest him. He'd watch, and still does, but he didn't really participate. He loved and still loves his bicycle. He will ride 9 miles to and from work every day now even. He was very musically inclined, but doesn't play now. You know they type that can pick up an instrument and just play it? He job title now is "Social Interactive Web Designer". He's done the interactive webpages for Kid Nation, Survivor China, Emmy's 2007, etc. Don't stop your child from doing what he loves.......
