Do married couples get more back in tax's??

If we got like $3,800 back last year and we were not married will we get back more this year since we got married last summer??
(Wife was a sahm w/o income all year and husband claimed wife and daughter and will do the same this year)

  • Probably not. If there is any change it is usually that the married couple will get back less.

  • i think he can claim you if you are married and not working..but im not sure, if so you would get more ... but im not married lol so not a fact just what i have heard...

  • OP. I already know he can claim me because he did last year, Im just wondering if we will get more back this year because we are married now.

  • You will get less as a married couple. There is a marriage "penalty" for some reason.
