  • If you mean keeping him seated long enough until he poops?

We would read books and sing songs to keep him "occupied" while waiting. And when we KNEW he was due for a poop, and he didn't want to sit, we used a shoulder strap from a duffel bag placing it around his waist and the lid of the toilet seat. He could wiggle out of it, but it helped to remind him to stay put.

  • Stop using pull ups!

  • yes take away the pull up, let him run around w/o pants for a few days, he will NOT want to poo on the floor and yes get mad when he does, be ready for some constipation issues during the process. buy a lg toy and put it somewhere he can see it and talkt o him a lot about how he can earn it by using the toilet and how you cant wait toplay with him with the toy... dont give up. but pull ups WILL hold you back, it is the same as a diaper to them.

  • It took our little guys a long time to figure that one out. One of them was great at it, the next was just stubborn, he gave us every answer in the book, #3 was scared to poop in the potty, and #4, well we just had to catch him at that right moment and he got it after a few weeks of catching him. Keep track of how often he goes and when. Mine went almost everyday and it was after lunch, so we tried after lunch everyday and he had to push 3 times for 5 seconds before he could get off the potty, if he didn't go, he had a timer set for 20 mins and then he would try again. If he missed a day, the next day, he would try after breakfast, lunch and dinner until he went. It takes patience and lots of praise! He'll get it!!

  • I let mine go pantsless ... Otherwise she kept missing the opportunity. I had to ditch the Pullups. They might look like underwear to us... but they're just a diaper to them. And my daughter couldn't really even get the pullup down herself anyway.
