cloudy pee

My 2 yr old seems to have cloudy pee. What does this mean?

  • Cloudy urine can be a symptom of various mecial conditions.You should take her to her doctor as soon as you can.

  • Most of the time, cloudy urine is simply white blood cells in the urine. Those are there because she probably has an infection. Or, maybe her urine is just too concentrated from not drinking enough clear liquids.

  • I went to get a sample in the morning to bring to the Dr. and it was clear! So it isn't cloudy a whole lot.

  • No need to panic... at all. In most cases, cloudy urine is a result of phosphaturia, a benign condition in which excess amorphous phosphate crystals form in the urine. Cloudy urine often occurs following a meal or after ingesting a large quantity of milk. You can actually test this yourself. Get a urine sample, add a few drops of vinegar, and if it is phosphaturia, it will clear right up. If it doesn't, then make a call to your doctor.
