  • Nothing! It will either break on its own, or your doctor will have to help it. Let NATURE take its course!

  • you do not want to break your water, lots of activity sex and nipple stimulation can put you into active labor... you want to keep your water as long as possible to reduce stress on the baby and the risk for infection...

  • That's funny~
A lot of women have their water break ( **keep in mind that it's not the same as going into/being in labor!** ) and a lot of women don't at all (baby is born in the intact sac; "caul").

It's pretty messy and still be days/weeks/ even MONTHS before baby comes.
    :- /
I suggest a lot of hand towels, maxi pads and best yet: cloth diapers because water leaking is a lot of work. Especially when we leak for a while. You can still go out and live normal life but it's MESSY!
(And when labor does begin eventually it can be harder & more painful, too.)

  • babymami,
This is untrue; MOST women have their water break (caul babies are rare).

    But only 10% have PROM.

  • I never heard of anything that would break your water. Sperm can make the cervix softer and dialate. Sex can cause labor and orgasms can cause contractions. Don't forget the walking lol
