Is it soooo hard to put dirty dishes in the dishwasher instead of the sink?

  • Clearly, it is. Tell your family that if they so desire to have the priviledge of putting their dishes in the sink throughout the day, then they will each take turns EVERY night loading the dishwasher after dinner. Everyone must take their turn whether they've put a dish in the sink that day or not. Hopefully they'll turn on each other and inspire cooperation in the less-eager participants.

  • There's more to using a dishwasher than placing the dishes. The water is hotter in the washer, and from what I can tell, it uses less water. It appears that it is more hygienic to let the dishes air dry than to dry them with a towel.
