  • You should have him checked out thoroughly with your pediatrician. If it is depression, there are sometimes physiological reasons for it (e.g., thyroid problems) that should be treated. It could be that he's in physical pain for some reason and can't communicate it to you. Could he be overtired? Does he cry in response to something or does he just spontaneously cry? Is it quiet whimpering or is it loud outbursts? Does he interact with people? If you notice that his behavior has changed, that warrants a visit to the doctor.

  • well, how are YOU? if you have a SO, is he ok? kids pick up on emotions very well, so if anyone in the house is overly sad, he may be mimicking them. Ask him whatrs wrong go through everything, and if all else fails, tell the doc!

  • aww, that's heartbreaking. just offer comfort and distractions and maybe talk to the doctor if it's really worrying you.
