Does bacon go bad?

Bacon has been kept at recommended 37 degrees or cooler, but exp date has passed

  • It's bad when it turns brown. If it's not brown just smell it.

  • thats why its an expiration date. like any meat, it can go bad. if its more than a week, toss it, opened or not. next time, you can freeze bacon if you dont open it before exp date

  • It is still good. Since it has been kept at that degree then 6 months from the exp date is the date I would go by.

  • mmm, expired bacon? nah, I'd toss it. I don't take chances with meat. Dairy products, bread, some other stuff, sure, but not meat. Don't eat it.

  • Has it been opened or is it still in the original package? And by 37 degrees is that frozen? Sorry brain fart. :) I had bacon that I had opened and put in a zip lock bag... it actually molded within 10 days. So I would say if it smells odd or has any discoloration, just toss it.
