Anyone else have 4 or more children that are close in age or very young or both lol.

My kids are 5 yrs, 3 yrs and 19 months old and I'm 5 weeks pregnant (I'm getting my tubes tide after this one)

so my question is, If you have children close in age that are young how do you do it? Any orgnizational tips? I'm a SAHM and I've already got my hands full lol. We wanted 5 but I told DH after this one 4 is ENOUGH lol :)

  • oh and as tempting as it is to pick up their toys, dress them and do stuff for them( cause you know you would do it faster, lol) dont do it. it is better to let them do as much as they can by themselves that way they learn how to be independent. with my 7yr old i had to learn that the hard way. he was so use to me doing everything for him, so i made a promise that with the other 2 and from this point forward i will let them be independent and it has worked great, cause before they ask me for help they ask each other, teaches them to be helpful to each other too :)

  • I have 5 from ages 11 to 2. I agree with the other moms, teach them independence and self-care. It will take a little longer for things to get done now but it will make things a lot smoother in the long run. Involve the kids in a 5 minute pickup a couple times a day to stay on top of clutter. Get into a good rhythm for keeping the household running. Prioritize the things you absolutely need to get done every day (for me these are dishes, clean the kitchen, and the floors) and make sure they get done. Go through the house once a week when DH is home to help and give it a good through clean. It helped me be less overwhelmed to know on Thurs or Fri that if things were piling up that I was going to get it done on Saturday (Sat AM was our big scrub the whole house day). Once you have the house on a good schedule, it frees most of your day to focus on the kids.

  • I have 3 kids and my phone has become my life line keeping my full schedule. Well it is really attached to my Google calendar and I have almost the whole day scheduled done to the T where I get 2 hours free time in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon. I got lucky and I have both my 6 year old and 3 year old in school so I have just my 4 month old home with me.

  • DH and I are 25, we have 5 kids, 8,5,4,2 and 9 months....we are planning for another in about 6-8 months ( trying). I am also a SAHM and DH is military so I am often going it solo....lol.
I schedual my days from the beginning of the week, have clothes picked out , back pakcs and shoes at the door the night before, plan meals a week in advance, organize and clean constantly ( I am a neat freak).
3 out of 5 are in school, and one is only 1/2 day! Iam used to it now, and probably wouldnt know what to do without them!
