Does any1 play guitar?

We bought a guitar yesterday. By bf used to play but kindof for got. He said he knows the chords (i think thats what theyre called lol) by number, not letter. Can some1 tell me what numbers shes playing??

  • Ist chord is D. On the 2nd fret string #1 ( E) 2nd finger- 2nd fret string #3 ( G ) 1st finger and 3rd fret String # 2 (B) 3rd finger

    2nd chord is A strings 2,3 & 4. 2nd fret fingers 1, 2 & 3

    3rd chord is G string #5 (A) 2nd fret 1st finger, string # 1 (E) 3rd fret 3rd finger and string 6 fret 3 second finger.

    Sequence is G A D A ( cape 1st fret)

  • my grandson 18 has been playing guitar since he was 12 yrs old,he has 4 and a bass  and he plays 14 other instruments-he just watched this and said he doesnt know what you mean by numbers guitars are played by cords -the girl on the vedio was telling you the cords ---

  • I didnt know there were numbers either, but my bf said thats how he knows them by =/ he watched it too.

  • Ok hope I got all of that right. One of the easy ways to draw out and read is to make 6 vertical lines joined together at top with a horizontal line then mark in the fingering.

  • You are welcome. You might be able to google guitar chord fingering and be able to view or print out a graph which will make it easier. Have fun !!
