I use to have a very green lawn in my back yard- even with my 2 Rotties, now it is shady with some morning sun, but I have sowed grass in it fertilized it and still the grass dies out... I miss a lawn- the dogs just track in dirt and mud- my house just is sandy floors - I feel like a I am living in the house on the praire with dirt floors. I have used grass seed for shady areas, good quality seed- it starts to grow then poof- it 's gone.

  • check with your local county extension office to see if they do soil analysis. your lawn may be low on some nutrients or something else that may need to be added before you try the shady area seed again. Or maybe they will have some advice.
