Would you be mad if your child was served pizza at school?

Reading a ridiculous blog this morning and the lady is beyond pissed that they are having a bday party at her dd's school. Pizza and cake. She almost made her dd stay home from school because of it.
She said: "I firmly told her and her teacher she is allowed one piece of pizza and no more...not even cake!"

Is this a bit extreme?

  • No, it's ok with me. They serve pizza occasionally here for hot lunch. I give my kids a good breakfast and a good dinner..

  • Well she sounds a little angry, but you have to understand maybe she explained her beliefs or religious views and they don't celebrate birthdays. and she expected the teachers to respect her decision? However, if she allowed her child to be there and have pizza I don't see how that is possible. but schools serve pizza as lunch anyways atleast most schools I live around and when I went to school.

  • Seems way extreme.. My family and I eat healthy but there are exceptions with birthday parties, lazy nights that I don't feel like cooking, etc. Wacky!

  • part not party whoops

  • That is extreme. I understand not feeding your children junk all day every day, but come on...a birthday party?? let them have!!!
I even (dare I say it) use little candys as rewards with my children on a daily basis for doing their chores, or using their manners. And, they're allowed a dessert every night if they've eaten their dinner....which is usually cookies, or a popcycle, etc.

BTW: My children are bean poles and doctor says they couldnt be healther!
Like I said before, I understand not feeding the crap all the time, but they're kids. Let them enjoy some sweets here and there while theyre energy level can burn it off and before those extra calories start turning into belly flaps.

  • Sounds like she needs to homeschool to me. Then she will be in control of what is served. Wow.
