  • Yes. Are they natural? or nurtured? If you believe both, then do you believe that someone who is born homosexual (or any of the other options) can turn out not to be just by the "nurturing" he or she receives?

  • I think it's mostly nature. Most people are just naturally neat or messy, pessimistic or optimistic. I think that nurture can influence these tendencies.

  • as a student of Psychology...both. there are some things that are more one than the other. sometimes a person can be genetically predispositioned for something, but never have anything trigger the behavior. and some can be trained to be a certain way even if they aren't genetically predispositioned.

the only one i dont know much about is homosexuality...b/c it wasnt talked about much in my study of psychology. we tend to stick to actual diseases of the mind, & they took homosexuality out of the DSM (big book of mental diseases) in the 70s

  • Actually there is a biological difference in people who are homo sexual and heterosexual. They did brain scans on both sides. Homosexuals area of "response" only became active in response to those of the same sex. Heterosexuals, those of the opposite sex. They reacted different to pheremones, and images.
But with a minor in psych its becoming prety obvious that its a mix of both. I don't think nature is more than nurture or nurture over nature.
