I have been blogging for CafeMom for the past year and, sadly, it's time to say goodbye. I love all the amazing women I've met online and off, and I appreciate all of the parenting tips and life experiences you've shared with me. It's been great getting to know all of you. CafeMom is the best site for moms on the web and I am so very happy to have been part of its community.
For now I'm saying so long. But I hope it's not for too long.

How about this for a reality T.V. show: The Real Housewives of International Leaders (all together now for the G-20 Summit)? I think it would be great—juicy gossip, crave-worthy fashion, intellectually stimulating conversations, and lots of drama. I doubt the Secret Service, among other international agencies, would approve. Still, it would be kind of fun. Here are some possible "episode" highlights (all real):
Miyuki Hatoyama, the wife of Yukio Hatoyama, the Prime Minister of Japan, and a former actress, recently claimed she knew Tom Cruise in a past life.
Thobeka Mabhija, is just one of South Africa President Jacob Zuma's five wives. All of his other wives could be on the show too. Kind of like Big Love.
French President Nicolas Sarkozy's wife Carla Bruni, is a former model, pop singer, famous for saying, "I'm monogamous from time to time, but I prefer polygamy and polyandry."
What do you think? Would you watch?

I'm originally from Massachusetts, where today, a legislative committee is deciding what the state's official sandwich will be. Up for consideration? The Fluffernutter! For those of you not familiar with it, this beloved sandwich consists of marshmallow Fluff and peanut butter (sans the crust for picky eaters). Californian Erin Zimmer of Serious Eats says if her state had a sandwich it would probably be avocado and sprouts on seven grain bread.
What do you think your state's official sandwich should be?

Hopefully, you won't have to give your baby medicine, but if you do, I just discovered an easy way to do it. Get The Medicator—it's a pacifier and medicine dispenser in one. Your baby will suck on it and the medicine will go down—no choking or spitting it back up. $1.75 at Amazon.

I love these psychedelic Crazyoleez crayons—they come in all kinds of fun shapes (letters, butterflies, flowers, animals, and more) and a fusion of colors and they were created by five moms (Amy, Becky, Debbie, Kelly, and Shelley) who "can’t stand a mess— lose the scattered, rolling crayons, you now have one!"
Liz at Cool Mom Picks had the great idea of using these as party favors (pumpkins for Halloween; holiday shapes for Christmas).
They range in price fro $3 to $8 depending on the size and number you get; at Go Crazyoleez.

I don't know anyone who has suffered postpartum depression. At least no one has told me they did. Yet, about 1 in 10 women who give birth suffer from it so it seems like I should know someone. Celebrities like Brooke Shields and Angie Harmon have talked publicly about it. Harmon recently told lilsugar that she experienced depression following the births of all three of her daughters, but that none of her friends ever talked about it with her until she brought it up.

Green (as in eco) fashion finally hits the big time. For the first time ever, the Green Shows were part of New York City's Fashion Week. Take a peek at some of the featured designers and their creations in this video and let me know what you think.
What do you think about green fashion? Do you take the environment into account when you buy clothes?

Every day, 3,600 children and teens start smoking and 1,100 become daily smokers, but maybe this will put an end to that: Yesterday, the FDA banned the sale of flavored cigarettes. The ban includes tobacco products with chocolate, vanilla, clove and other flavorings that get children and teenagers interested in smoking. Menthol cigarettes will still be available.

Sarah Michelle Prinze (32) and Freddie Prinze (32), her husband of seven years, welcomed a baby girl into their family on Saturday, September 19. Her name is Charlotte Grace Prinze. So classic. I love it!
What do you think of the name?
I love it!
Ho-hum. I hate it.
Who cares what I think? If the parents like it that's all that matters.
