Gift Guide, Baby: The Bookworm

December 5, 2008 at 7:47 AM by Cafe Suzanne - Comments (1)

What to get the Bookworm?

Books are always a great gift of course, but here are a few more original options for the tiny reader (future author?) in your life.

baby blocks

photo from Etsy

Product: ABC Learning Blocks (in Eastern Blossoms)

Cost: $35

Where to Buy: Etsy

Extras: The set of 26 blocks comes in a hand-sewn drawstring pouch for easy storage.

Why I Love It: Even if I didn't have a baby I'd be coveting these lovely hand-stamped, non-toxic blocks. They are a wonderful way for burgeoning bookworms to learn the alphabet and be on their way to reading. I'm placing my order right now.

bunny bookends

Product: Read Between the Bunnies Bookends

Cost: $49.95

Where to Buy: The Land of Nod

Extras: Bunny bookends come in blue, green, orange, and pink. Elephant (gray only) and giraffe (yellow only) bookends are also available.

Why I Love It: No bunnies (or other animals) were harmed in the making of these faux leather bookends, which are a charming way to keep books from tumbling off shelves (until your baby starts pulling them off, of course). I bought a set in orange for one of the babies in our playgroup.

books

photo from Amazon.com

Product: A Margaret Wise Brown Gift Set: The Runaway Bunny & Goodnight Moon

Cost: $25.50

Where to Buy: Amazon.com

Extras: Don't forget to buy all your books at once from Amzaon to save on shipping!

Why I Love It: These two classic books were cherished by my three nieces and I ordered the set for my daughter for Christmas. We read books every night before bed and often during the day too.

photo from Target

Product: Sassy Baby's First Books

Cost: $13.49

Where to Buy: Target.com

Extras: Please note this is available only online and not in Target stores.

Why I Love It: These four fun colorful books are soft and easy to keep clean (use a damp cloth). They're the perfect gift for any new little "reader."
