It's hard being a new mom (or even an experienced mom to a new
baby) and sometimes we do things we know we shouldn't, despite what all
the experts say. But this is a safe place to share your secrets—we
won't tell.
This Week's Secret:
"I took my son to the doctor for his 2-week checkup and when the receptionist asked me his name, I froze. I wanted to cry because I couldn't remember. Total "mommy brain!" —anonymous

Its normal. I can never forget DDs though because she is named after MIL. My mom was laways calling my sister and I the wrong names when we were kids. She finally just gave us the same nickname that used both our names, ShellRee, lol.
I switch our birthdays all the time. My sons is 8-15-08 and mines 8-7-85 .. haha. When the pharmicist or dr ask bday i stand there and im like "ehrmm" haha. I've also called my son by our cats name or by my hubs name. Its normal I think ;)
Its an odd day if I get MY name right...let alone my kids names... But I think its really normal for a new baby, we knew we were having a Zachary from 30 weeks and referred to him as that but I still forgot his name after he was born...Some comes from the sleep deprivation I think
After I had my son I was trying to fill out the information for the birth certificate and I forgot what we had planned on calling him. Thank god hubby remembered. I was so exhausted I just couldn't think. The same thing happened to me after my daughter was born too! I forgot what name we decided on.
I've been frustrated and done the "zach, nik..AIDEN stop it" thing lol (the first two are my brothers)
Hahaha! At 2 weeks I forgot how to tell day from night! Would just mumble "eat" and "drink" all of the time. With DH being hard of hearing, it was hard. I forgot how to SIGN! LOL! DS didn't stop crying from the time he was born, so it was a very difficult FOUR MONTHS! I forgot my name, my birthday, what day it was, and called DH by many names of old friends (good thing I caught it before he hear them!) The only thing I didn't forget was DS's name... probably because I was chanting it along with, "Please stop crying. Just go to sleep. Please!"
