I waited for years to become a mom.  When I finally had my son home from Korea and in my arms, I was psycho about allowing others to hold him.  I wanted to keep him safe and never let him go.  He was brand new!  However, I let my MIL hold him.  Instead of sitting her rear down and holding him, she had to "take charge", like always, and began tromping around the room with him.  Lo and behold - she (all 200 pounds of her) fell ON my baby!!!!!  I wanted to @?!?!  her.

I'm on baby #2, he's 3 months old and I'm still waking up in the night to make sure he's still breathing :(

I actually did fall with my little one.  After a long day , I was walking down the stairs with my then 3 month old daughter in her carseat.  I missed on of the steps (it was only three stairs), and hit the ground.  The carseat caught the brunt of the impact, though my chin connected with the handle of the carseat.  Scared the crap outta me.  :(

I fell down the stairs with my son when he was just about 6wks old.  My sister ran down and tripped me and I slid down the steps on my butt.  I was so afraid that I shook DS too much but he just cracked open an eye, sighed, closed his eyes and keps on sleeping in my arms.  LOL

Rational: Hubby fell asleep when my daughter was just under 2 months old and dropped her off the couch. She ricocheted off the coffee table on the way down. She hit hard and didnt make a sound so I FA-REAKED! She was ok tho. Wasnt the last time he dropped her either. I joke she is made of teflon lol

Irrational: My SIL thinks my parents dog (an english mastiff) is going to EAT HER BABY!!!  My daughter has been around the dog since she was born. They are BFFs. My SIL is just nuts!

I'm terrified that I'll take my kids to the pediatrician for something I simply don't know how to handle (like a rash, or because they've fallen and hit their heads) and the office staff will call CPS and my kids will be taken away because of an accident.

My daughter has really sensitive skin and was constantly getting diaper rashes, and for the life of me, (and the pharmacist) I couldn't find a cream that would soothe her, much less heal the rash. I took her to the doctor over and over and in the end he said when I did use cream to use more than I thought I needed ("because there's no such thing as too much") and to let her be naked as much as possible. ("Baby pee won't hurt your carpet"). Potty training did the trick, but everytime I took her in I held my breath until we left.

My son is smaller than most babies his age, and has consistantly dropped on the "normal baby" % chart, and when his weight and height both dropped off the chart I was convinced they'd think I was starving him.

I did fall with my daughter. She was 3 months old and I slipped on a rug at my cousins and I fell and she flew out of my arms...I felt so bad and was bawling but she was fine....I was able to make sure she didn't hit hard and landed on my hands

I fell when I was pregnant with my second. My son was in my arms and we were walking down some steps that were wet from april showers. I was holding my 14 month old and 8 months pregnant and my SIL stopped abruptly in front of me and i ran into her and fell backwards, hitting my back and trying to protect both my huge belly and my squirming son. I spent the night in the hospital and my son had no skin on the bottom of one foot for a long time, but we were okay, thank god. i did flip out though, and rode to the hospital in an ambulance.

I once dropped my infant out of her carseat. I had her sitting in it with me on the back porch to enjoy some nice weather and fresh air, when I picked up the carseat to carry her inside the handle wasn't locked and teh carseat tilted and dumped her out right onto her head. OMG I was mortified!! She was okay, but I was convinced I'd done something terrible to her for hours....ugh...I have a newborn now and my biggest fear is falling asleep with him and dropping him. I wake up constantly thinking I was still holding him, but I've already put him back in his bassinet! Soooo annoying and scary!
