This week the Today show interviewed a woman who adopted a child and then gave him up 18 months later. Her reason? She couldn't bond with him.

You thought I was going to say Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, didn't you? Nope, not a movie review this time, but I have been hearing good reviews.
Today, the forecast is for cloud-inspired baby gear — with a chance of cuteness, a strong chance of fluffy cloudy cuteness.

I love cloth books—my baby could grasp them in her little fingers and whack herself in the head without getting hurt. I also love anything organic because it's softer for my baby and better for the planet she's going to be inhabiting for the next 100 or so years (a mom can hope).

This adorable wooden baby book Animal Homes by Kid O is only $12.
So what if it's only six pages, which includes the front and back cover. I love it, and, to me, it's completely worth $2 for each beautifully illustrated wooden page with an sweet animal in its home.
Love it!

You can also get it at your local library.
How will you be celebrating the Fourth of July?

My daughter loves books—she has since she was just a few days old. When she cried, I'd put her in front of our tall bookshelves and she'd immediately stop. She'd just stare at all the book titles for a while and then she'd fall asleep. Now she won't nurse unless she has a book in her lap that she can flip through and "read." Books make her so happy, I can't imagine what her life would be like without them. But not every baby is so lucky. I was inspired when I read a post about Spiffing Up Used Board Books for Kids in Need on enviromom.

My baby loves books. She likes to read them and she likes to eat them. That's why I love these adorable eco-friendly cloth books from Little Green Books. There's a book about Little Panda, one about Little Monkey, and more.
The books are made out of cotton and recycled fleece so they're safe for my baby to put in her mouth—they're machine-washable.
The books are also a fun way to start teaching your little one about being green—he'll learn about endangered animals, recycling, and helping the environment.
What baby books are you loving lately?

Wouldn't it be great if there was a blog whose sole purpose was to give away free stuff? Well, there is one. Give Away Today holds one giveaway a day, Monday through Friday. All you usually have to do to enter to win is write your name in the comments. Last Thursday, the blog was giving away a Dash & Diesel onesie set worth about $28, like the one shown here (the winner could choose the color and style they wanted).
