What to Wear to a Winter Wedding

Off-season weddings are becoming increasingly popular -- it costs less and allows some couples to do a lot more. But that leaves those on the guest list wondering: What should I wear to a winter wedding?

Just because it's winter, doesn't mean you have to wear a parka and snow boots. Usually if your shoulders are covered and you have tights or stockings on your legs, you'll feel comfortable throughout the night. Here are some tips:

• You can wear black unless it's the bride and groom's religion or superstition that will prevent you from going with this color.
• You can wear black pants, just dress it up with a fancy blouse like Newport News' Balloon Sleeve Satin Tunic ($19).
• southerngrandma says to jazz up a black dress with silver shoes, jewelry, and a clutch. She also thought red was a great color to liven up the look.
• GrnEyedGrandma suggests animal print shoes or clutch, or go with rhinestone jewelry.

• Ankle boots look great with short dresses and tights.
