Aromatherapy: The Power of Essential Oils

November 20, 2008 at 7:00 AM by Cafe MicheleZ - Comments (10)

essential oilsI've been wearing essential oils since college. Back then, my favorite scent was Egyptian Musk. I also loved mixing Patchouli and Baby Powder scented oils. Sounds weird, I know, but it smelled so good -- soft with some rich notes mixed it. I would dab it on my pulse points and the scent would last all day. That's what so great about using an oil instead of a perfume. Plus, there are different oils to calm, soothe, even stimulate...sure sounds (and smells) good to me!

CafeMom maisah is a distributor of Young Living essential oils.

Young Living has every kind of essential oil you can imagine and Martha Stewart, Donna Karan, and Christy Turlington love them!

I just love a momtrepreneur!

Do you wear essential oils? What's your favorite scent?

No, We do not carry Magnolia. But a great altunative is Lavender and Jasmine. Lavender has a fresh, sweet, floral, herbaceous aroma that is soothing and refreshing. It is the most versatile of all essential oils and no home should be with out it. It is great fro relaxing, claming down, winding down before bed. Yet has a balancing properties that can boost stamina and energy. Can be use in your first aide kit to help heal minor cuts, scrapes and burns. Lavender can also be used to enhance the flavor of foods.

Jasmine has a warm exotic, floral fragrance that relaxes, soothes, uplifts and enhances self-confidance. Jasmine is beneficial for the skin. It has been use throughout history for romance and attraction and for balancingthe feminine energy of the body.

Geranium is another great oil. Geraniumhas a wonderfully uplifting, calming, flowery scent, It is excellent for the skin, and its aromatic influence helps release negative memories. Used traditionally to support the circulatory and nervous sysems, a great deal of strength lies in its ability to revialize body tissue.

Lemon essential oil is great to add in your water just a drop will do it, it is a powerful antioxidant, cuts fat/grease. Clean with it use it as a degreaser,  Cook with it... make lemone aide or ad a drop to your tea.

Winter is here you can say... I suggest R.C. Contains powerful therapeutic grade essential oils that are invigorating when applied, especially to the neck and throat area. R.C. is a wonderful blend to diffuse during the winter...

These are to just name a few.. and are my all time favorites...

Please note that not all of the oils are for consumption (dietary aides)...read the bottle carefully. All are applicable and inhalants some dietary aides

I love the smell of lavender and rosemary, but i've been seriously hooked on the smell of jasmine since a child, luckily the DH likes it too. ...lol.... And its true you can't beat an oil.

And patchouli reminds me of a good friend lost along the way !!!!!!!! Its funny how scents can bring the memories flooding back.!!!!!!??????
