When Jeans Are Too Tight....

December 1, 2008 at 12:00 PM by Cafe MicheleZ - Comments (5)

Mr. Puffins wishes

he could fit into this box.

Last night I washed my favorite pair of jeans and today they aren't fitting very well! Too much turkey? Yes. Seconds on the stuffing? And thirds. Pumpkin pie with fresh whipped cream? For breakfast, too. What to do?

Cafe Kristen has some great tips for a post-Thanksgiving diet that I plan on looking into, but until I battle my bulge, I can always grab a hair tie to help keep my jeans together

I've done some funny things to fit into jeans. I have this one pair, which do not fit at all, but I had the idea that if I wore them all day in the house that they would stretch out enough so they can be presentable for outside wear. That never happened. I was just uncomfortable for most of the day until I gave up on the notion and put on sweats.

Have you ever suffered for style? What are some things you've done to fit into jeans?

I haven't tried this, but I remember seeing an ad once for a device that you put in the waist of your jeans while they're wet and let dry that way to stretch the waist out. Now, if I could find a device that stretches out the thighs too, I might have to try it!

No I haven't.  I would like to find a way to shrink MY jeans.  I've lost almost 50lbs and still loosing.  One week the jeans will fit and the next week they are too baggy.  I'm in a size 6, now.  Some styles are too big.  Someone recommended that I should just buy a size 4...yeah...right...so I was in the dressing room trying on a 4 and I looked like a grown woman wearing a onesie.  Shrink my jeans, please!!!

You might want to hold off on sretching your jeans, too.  If it's just a atter of "turkey belly" than it's nothing permanat.  You might end up in my situation.

Katie...

I don't (yet!) fit into my old pants and am really tired of wearing maternity pants three months after delivering, so my Mom convinced me just to go buy some new pants that fit now.  She pointed out that the next time I'm pregnant, I'm probably not going to want to go straight to maternity pants, so having something in between would be smart (thanks, Mom!).  Much to my surprise, I found a pair in my old size that aren't horribly uncomfortable, halleluiah!  There's definitely more than I like spilling over the top of them, but no one is in danger of getting him by a flying button, YES!  I was skipping up and down the dressing room hallway at Gap, lol! :D

I love this article.  I usually do squats and a whole array of workouts trying to stretch out my jeans.  One thing i've never understood though.  Why do ladies lay on the bed or floor to put on their jeans?  When you get up the belly has to go somewhere and usually ends up spilling over giving you "muffin tops".  Lol, just thought I would ask what the point was...
