I Heart Leviticus Jewelry!

I go through jewelry phases. Sometimes I don't want to wear anything other times I want to bauble it up. Lately I've been in serious necklace mode -- not wearing one makes me feel kind of naked. And when I saw the line from Leviticus Jewelry (earrings, bracelets, cufflinks, and necklaces, oh my), I fell in love! Plus, the prices are so good. Hmm...maybe because their made by a smart, sensible, and oh-so super stylish mom!

Tara Levitin is the Houston mama behind these handmade and one-of--a-kind pieces made with a mix of metals and all posessing that antique, super chic feel. Tara's children, 3 1/2 year-old Lucy and 8 month-old Tex, are the reasons she was able to create Leviticus Jewelry. She wanted to be a work-at-home mom.

Tara says that the biggest challenge she faces since she works from home is "trying to find a healthy balance between work time and spending time with my family. Too be honest, I haven't quite figured it all out yet."

I know a lot of moms out there who can relate.

I asked Tara what beauty and style things changed most for her after becoming a mom. She shared, "Well, a few months after I had my daughter, I started dressing really plain because I thought that was how moms were supposed to dress. I felt less creative because I wasn't me. I got back into my own style and felt 100 percent better. So, I found out you can still be a great mom without falling into the stereotypical 'mom' look."

Tara's morning routine may sound familiar. "I wake up, feed the kids, drink as much caffeine as humanly possible, and then I get to work."

Her daughter Lucy is one of her biggest fans. "She always requests that I make her one of whatever I am making so that she can wear it to pre-school. Kids have a mind of their own!"
