I can't believe how cold it is here in Chicago—and it's not even October yet! This morning on my way out the door to walk the dog, I pulled on my 4-year-old Ugg boots, only to discover the gigantic rip down the seam from heel to mid-calf.
How did I miss that last winter?
So now I have a dilemma: Invest in a new pair of Uggs, or save money with a (much) cheaper knock-off version. I'm kinda liking the Sweater Boot from Payless (pictured here); and Target ($29.99) and Delia's also have knock-off versions that look like the real thing...
I detest spending so much money for a boot that looks hideous on me; still, I don't want to freeze. And here in Chicago, it's really easy to freeze!
I'm not the only one pondering such a question: The great Ugg debate was a topic of discussion recently among some CafeMoms—with some moms swearing by their knock-off versions, and others saying genuine Uggs were the only way to go.
What do you think? Do you wear Uggs (or a Ugg-like version of boot)? Which would you recommend?

I got real UGGS as a christmas present from hubby almost 3 years ago! Yes, they were exspensive, but they have lasted 3 years and will lprobablly last at least one more. And I've had knock offs, the real ones are waaay more comfy and durable!~
I got a pair from Costco. I use them in bad weather. I got a pair from payless and the stain would not come out of a black boot! I found a shorter version in grey. Yeah.I keep the uggs in a boxand wear them when I know it won't be bad weather.
Here's a question. I want some Uggs so bad but are you only supposed to wear them with skinny jeans? I don't have the a$$ or thighs for skinny jeans lol and all I wear are bootcut or flare jeans. I'm guessing Uggs won't look too good with those??
