Me with shorter semi side swept bangs.
I've had short bangs that went straight across and I've also had really long side-swept bangs -- can you tell I'm a huge fan of bangs for myself?
The side swept bangs look better on me and that makes sense now that I've got these tips from stylist Antonio Prieto.
Bangs, or fringe as he calls them, can look great if you first identify your shape of face, then get the right fringe cut.

Since I can't bring the spa to you, I wanted to bring some elements of being pampered to one lucky CafeMom.
The Organic Pharmacy has such incredible products -- they are one of London's best makers of organic and homeopathic beauty and health products.
Cleopatra's Milk Bath and Scrub Spa Gift Set is infused with rose petals, and the essential oils of rose, jasmine, and yling ylang, buffing your skin and making it silky smooth. Sounds fantastic, right?
Ooh I would like a bath right now!

You know how when you go to the salon and they blow dry your hair, it almost always looks fabulous? But then when you try to do it yourself, at home, it just never looks as smooth or as good?
I'm an embrace the waves in my hair kind of girl -- in fact, I wish I had more curl. But my sister loves her hair straight. And no matter how you wear your hair, some of us (ahem, me) can often spend lots of money at the salon.
Now I'm not saying to ditch the salon -- I love being pampered -- but wouldn't it be great to get a look as good as they can give you?
The makers at Parlay Brush say they can.

I'm in love with headbands right now. I've been for a while, but since I've been pregnant and my rings no longer fit and long necklaces look odd against my belly, my favorite thing is to wear accessories in my hair.
I usually wear one on the weekend when I want to feel pretty -- it's an instant pick-me-up. And LuminousMom makes some really cute headbands and really great prices!

If you could smell like Pam Anderson, would you?
That's a weird question. But I would imagine this beach babe would smell like a combination of coconut oil with a surf and sand vibe. And I'm right -- sort of. Pam just launched her first perfume line, complete with a day and night scent.

One of my favorite tidbits was a trick on how to tame unruly eyebrows. If you take an eyebrow brush, spritz a tiny bit of hairspray on it, then brush your eyebrows, they will stay in place. A makeup artist told me that one.

My mom and dad on their wedding day.
I remember missing the bus as a kid and she'd have to drive us to school. She wouldn't leave the house without her lipstick. So maybe her hair was a mess and she had on PJs under her coat, but her lips were perfectly painted red.
Another woman in my life who had amazing style was my aunt Eileen. She too always looked gorgeous. I remember her hair being frosted in the 80s and I thought it was just the most glamorous look. She was like Farrah Fawcett meets Lauren Bacall.
