Am I allowed to hate on supermodels because they always look perfect? Yes, yes I am. But how cool is it that Carol Alt is willing to share some of her skin care secrets with us? OK Carol -- I can't hate...it's only love. And I love her new line of products!
Carol lives a raw food lifestyle -- everything is in its purest state. And she wanted beauty products that followed suit. So she developed a line of products called RAW Essentials that are free of chemicals and are great for your skin.
She's sharing some of her secrets with us that are proof that it's not just about what you do or use on and in your body, it's how you do it. Here are her tips to winterize your skin and keep a glow all year long.

My mom and dad on their wedding day.
I remember missing the bus as a kid and she'd have to drive us to school. She wouldn't leave the house without her lipstick. So maybe her hair was a mess and she had on PJs under her coat, but her lips were perfectly painted red.
Another woman in my life who had amazing style was my aunt Eileen. She too always looked gorgeous. I remember her hair being frosted in the 80s and I thought it was just the most glamorous look. She was like Farrah Fawcett meets Lauren Bacall.

There are of things in the house that can make our hair look good -- and I don't just mean hair products.
Sadly, though, cake is not one of them...unless you are as cute as brighteyesbryar's daughter. Then you can get away with just about anything.
I've got a homemade hair recipe to get rid of frizz and all you need is some white vinegar -- and a touch of honey for a little something extra.

Just about all the trends I've written about (and really wanted) are available at Kohl's. Fingerless gloves? Yes. Bold necklaces? Mmm hmmm. Layered fall looks. All there.
Plus they have LC by Lauren Conrad (pictured right) and Simply Vera by Vera Wang (pictured below).
It's one-stop shopping for kids clothes, toys, housewares, electronics, and even jewelry. And I've got $75 in gift cards to give away to one lucky CafeMom.

I look at celebrities like Angelina Jolie and Naomi Watts and wish I had flawless skin like they do.
Then I think...is it cosmetics? I did meet Michelle Williams once and without a stitch of makeup on has the most perfect skin I've ever seen. (She's gorgeous.)
Most of my friends have great skin, too. I've seen them fully done up with makeup and also without and I'll admit, I am slightly envious.
I wish I had better skin!

Crystal Renn is gorgeous. At size 12, she's considered plus size, but when she was a size 0 she was anorexic.
Blame the modeling industry, society, lack of self-esteem -- weight issues are a huge problem not just for teens, but can affect a woman throughout her whole life.
Crystal shows that she didn't have to be a thin model to have success.
I know one of the arguments about skinny models is that they look better in clothes. But I don't think that applies to Crystal. She looks good in (and out) of anything. She does have great proportions.

You've carved the pumpkin, maybe even made a pie out of it, but isn't there always some pumpkin bits left over?
All you need are five tablespoons and you can make a pumpkin facial that will hydrate your skin.
It's so good you'll want to eat some...and it's all natural so you actually can.

Hard Candy is back making cool makeup again and this time they are sold at Walmart and less expensive -- who can complain?
What's also neat is that they are still making some outrageous stuff...my favorite being the Eye Tattoo.

I love super dark nail polish in the fall -- either a deep blood red or even black. And then I saw Dashing Diva's Nails on the Go press-ons and loved the look, too.
If you don't want to go all out and use the design on every finger, you can even just put one on one nail on each hand and paint your nails a coordinating color.
All would look good with the other nails painted black, but you can also do a deep red for the black ones, and a pale pink for the one with the heart on it.
