Did you know your child should be in a booster seat if he or she weighs more than 40 pounds? In fact, you should always use a booster seat until your big kid weighs between 80 and 100 pounds and is about 4 feet, 9 inches tall.
Like many moms here on CM, you probably have a zillion questions when it comes to car seat rules and regulations. Well now's the time to ask! All this week, me and my co-Daily Buzz parenting bloggers are reporting back from car seat safety pros, fielding your Q's and getting the low-down on every stage of child passenger car seat use.
But, mom, it gets even better. We're also giving away new car seats across the CM parenting channels. Look for contests today in Pregnancy Buzz, Baby Buzz, Toddler Buzz, and of course, here in Big Kid Buzz where I've scored the cutest Clek "Olli" Paul Frank special-edition booster seat for one of you lucky ladies!
One mom who replies to this post with a comment by 11:59pm (EST) on Friday, January 30, 2009 will be chosen at random to receive the Clek "Olli."
To enter, send me a question for the experts. But remember, no matter how many times you comment, each mom can only win one per channel.
I know that many of you want to know how to keep your big kid in a booster seat when he simply doesn't want to ride in one anymore. But what else? What car seat question would you most like an
answer to? Let's put a buckle around child passenger seat mysteries once and for all.
The Clek "Olli" is an award-winning, belt-positioning booster seat. It's designed
with an integrated rigid LATCH system to "deliver both the safety of
LATCH and the convenience of uncomplicated installation." The Olli retails for about $99.99.

i think the biggest difference is they can go into the ones with backs at 30 lbs instead of 40lbs for non back... we've been debating boosters all week my daughter is getting quite uncomfortable in her car seat but likes to try to get out of the straps so we're afraid to put her in the non locking seat belt
How do you help convince a child who is older but does not meet size regulations that sitting in a booster seat isnt for babies?
I understand the benefits of my 6 year old riding in a booster, he is about 40 something pounds and idk maybe 3 and a half feet tall. I would like to know more about the benefits of older bigger children in them.... I didn't weigh 80-100 lbs til probably jr. high and was 4 foot 9 in late elementary...... please explain more about this :)
My son is almost 5 and he is a little over 50lb, he is a big boy I didn't relieze that he was still suppose to be in one, now I feel like a bad mom.
How long are these booster seats certified as safe for? Do they have expiration dates like the carseats? Or could I use this down the line with all my children or nieces and nephews.
How tall should they be for the backless seat? I tried one on my toddler and the seat belt cuts across his neck...He is 38 lbs and getting too big for his harness car seat..
