Responding to a recent post on a teacher organizing a fight club in middle school, some CafeMom users had no problem with letting boys duke it out in a supervised, safe school setting.
Now I'm curious what moms think about Russian Roulette for kids. The game Kaba Kick has been available in Japan for a while. Surprise surprise it hasn't found its way across US borders yet.
That advertisement at left has to win some kind of WTF award. Terrified kid holding a pink gun hippo to his temple like he's seen the actors do in all those R-rated movies his parents let him watch. Yes, this "gadget" is shaped like a hippo instead of a weapon ... so that makes it okay, right?
The player points the "hippo" at his or her own head and pulls the trigger. Instead of bullets, a pair of feet kick out from the barrel. If the gun doesn’t fire, the player earns points.
One blogger who was as dumbfounded as I was who commented on the toy said he was just so glad this game exists because it's important that children learn to play Russian Roulette as early as possible. Oh, what ever is in the drinking water over there?
What are some of the wackiest kids games you've come across lately?

I love this. I said I think that sometimes having a teacher supervise a fight instead of letting a child walk home and get jumped alone and now Cafe Cynthia thinks that that would mean that I might actually consider a suicidal simulation appropriate.
Yeah, I can see how those two are totally related....not.
So putting my offense aside I am going to state the obvious and say that no, this is not o.k.
Oh, totally, sorry. Now that I read it again, I can understand why you think that, but I was really just trying to be funny. And failing. Miserably. I'm actually a mom who told her daughter to pummel the bully who's biting her at school, so I actually believe that fists do have their place. Apologies really, it's what happens when a busy mom works way too fast.
Cynthia-
I was just suprised to see such a direct parallel drawn between women who acknowledge that some instances that involve fighting are almost inevitable and a game promoting suicide! I get it though...I'm in my second trimester and between regular pregnancy exhaustion and dealing with my overactive two year old my brain is almost completely gone! So thank you, and I really get where you are coming from!
I am at a loss for words here! (and THAT does not happen often) I would never allow my children to play with this!
Stay in touch with CafeMom wherever you are
Umm...what the heck!?!?!
