Must See TV: Dogs 101 on Animal Planet!

January 26, 2009 at 10:47 AM by Cafe MichelleL - Comments (3)

Dogs 101 is an entertaining show on Animal Planet that gives an overview of 4 different dog breeds each episode. I love this show because it gives the viewer just enough information about a dog breed to be interesting.

Each dog breed overview contains the following: History of the Breed, Health Concerns, Personality and Temperament. There's a check list for the breed that gives the viewer a snapshot of whether the breed could be compatible to your household.

Have you seen this show? Do you like it? What dog breeds do you like most?

I have not seen the show but I will have to keep an eye out for it.  We just lost our dog last week and I have not intention of ever owning another dog because I don't want to go through that again but "just in case" it will be nice to know.

My favorite dog breed is a German Shepherd!  I love them!  Boxers would be my second.

Me and my dad raise, train, and sell dogs for a living. We are Plott hound people, but have been known to have Bluetics, Redtics, and Walkers. For pets we have had A Redbone Bloodhound, German Shepherd, English Bulldogs, and a Beagle. Right  now we have Plotts, a Doberman, and A Pitbull.

This show, and a show called Breed All About it are very good, educational, and true. I recommend this show to anyone that wants to learn about dogs, research for a new pet, or just see what breeds of dogs are out there!

Yeah, I love this show.  My favorite breeds are Chihuahuas, Pugs, Huskys, and Pomeranians.  My kids and I are starting to breed, raise, and hopefully train Chihuahuas and Pom-chis.  I'd love to train some of them for therapy work with children or the elderly.
