What's your all-time favorite book? The one that hooked you on reading, that you come back to time and again and always find something new and amazing inside it?
For me, it's Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte. Ah, Catherine and Heathcliff. I first fell in love in high school, and again in college, and at least a dozen times afterward.
rileysmommy811 never liked reading as a kid, until one day in summer school she was told to complete All Around the Town by Mary Higgins Clark. The only reason she actually cracked it open was because class was so boring.
"I loved it!," says rileysmom, a member of The Book Club. "I finished the book a week before is was due."
Other moms in The Book Club share the books that hooked them on reading:
Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls -- ashlyn2005

I have been hooked on reading for as far back as I can remember, but 2 of my favorites as I was growing up were the Little House on the Prairie series and the Anne of Green Gables series. Now I love anything by Mary Higgins Clark, John Grisham, Danielle Steel and I recently read the Twilight series and loved it!
i also love the book i love you forever by robert munsch. my mom buys a copy for everyone during thier first pregnancy! i havent ever read the whole thing to my kids... it makes me cry so bad i cannot see the words! i wanna cry just thinking about it!
i like you forever
i love you for always
as longas i'm living
my baby you'll be.
I can't remember a time when I didn't love to read, but the ones that come to mind as my 'favorites' are Heidi ( i read it about a hundred times), The Outsiders, Little Women, and everything by the Bronte sisters and Jane Austen. More recently I've added James Patterson to my list of favorite authors for his perfect mix of mystery, suspense, and humor.
I have too many to list. I have been reading since I could hold a book and read 3-5 books a week.
I am glad to see someone else referring to books as crack. In one of my goups, I posted the definition of crackhouse as your favorite place to obtain books. If it's the library, then your card is the crackhouse key.
I love the book Geek Love by Katherine Dune. It's a magically crazy tale of a circus family. So enchanting.
I don't know if I can pick one book that hooked me. I have always loved reading. But I remember collecting the babysitters club books and then The Gymnasts (because I was one) were really big with me!
While I don't re-read this book...I did pass it on to my daughter...after reading I became addicted to reading...I was in the third grade when it started...Are you There God, It's Me, Margaret by Judy Bloom was my first book & still a favorite with me!
i'm inot anytihng by stephen king or dean koontz. they are both fantastic writers. dean koontz's Hideaway is the top of my list right now, with king's Gerald's Game as a close second.

To Kill a Mockingbird will always be my fave too. And I love me some Stephen King.
