Summer nights oftentimes include fireworks, and though they're fun (and oh so pretty to look at), you should remember to take safety precautions.
Last summer at a family get together, the kids lighted one of those bee fireworks, and I swear it was like that thing was a homing device! I was chased around the yard, no matter which way I turned. Even though no one was hurt (and it gave the kids something to laugh about for a good 20 minutes afterwards) it just goes to show that you can't predict firework behavior!
In fact, according to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, over 8,000 people are injured in firework accidents each year. Thankfully, they have provided tips to make sure you and your family have a safe and fun celebration:

We do not light off fireworks. We go to our local park to watch them. There is to much of a safety issue . For us to light them our selves.

We do not shoot off fireworks. The only time we see them during the summer is during the 4th of July Fireworks that they have in our city.
Our favorite kind are the ones are huge, Sorry I don't know the name since we don't buy them.
