TMZ was the first to report that Michael Jackson has died. He was 50.

The King of Pop suffered a cardiac arrest earlier today at his home in Bel Air and was rushed to UCLA hospital. Sources tell TMZ that Jackson was not breathing at the scene and, once at the hospital, the staff tried to resuscitate him but was unsuccessful.

He is survived by three children: Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson, and Prince "Blanket" Michael Jackson II.

My heart goes out to the family. This has been a rough day in Hollywood with Farrah Fawcett's passing as well.

I am so so sad. I love Michael Jackson's music and always always will. There will never be another with talent (that dancing!!!!) like his. I know his life has been hard in recent years, and I can only hope he can find peace now.

I'm in shock. I grew up listening to his music. First Farrah and now him. We are seeing the end of an era. My oldest son learned how to moonwalk like Michael. May he find the peace that he wasnt able to in life. Blessings to his family and children.

what a horrible day for Hollywood. The only thing I find a bit sad is that the death of Michael will certainly overshadow the death of Farrah, when both deserve their time and respect.. thats a bit unfortunate.

I'm among those who will not mourn his passing. The only ones I feel sorry for are the three children and how messed up their lives are because of him.

very sad day.  first farrah, then MJ.  I wanted to be like Farrah...I loved Charlies Angels.  I loved MJ.  He was a phenomenal artist.  Regardless of what you think about him personally, he had such a great impact on music.  My heart goes out to his family & friends & his fans arond the world.  And I agree w/LuminousMom...I hate that Farrah's death will get overshadowed.

I feel sorry for Michael Jackson, he was a victim of a scandal. Even on the news a reporter mention that he was a easy target because his sincere kindness towards children, he was wealthy and also a passive person. So of course how greedy and cruel people are in this world, these women found a way to get money out of Michael Jackson, by getting their children to lie and accused Michael of child abuse. In the end though justice shined and it was proven that Michael did no such thing.

Many people criticize him for covering his children faces (yes it was a little bizarre), but do they ever stop and think why he did that? If people watch the Jackson movie and pay close attention, Michael went through a lot of mental abuse and even though he was amazing performer at a young age, all the fans that were obsessed with him frighten him. He didn't have that chance to be a child, so it adds up why he covered his children's faces. He wanted to protect them and also that his children dont go through what he went through. Michael Jackson is "The King Of Pop", you know his kids would be harassed by the media and people in general.
