A Romantic Comedy About Abortion

October 7, 2009 at 3:00 PM by Cafe MicheleZ - Comments (6)

When I was doing my daily blog reads and came across Jezebel's title The First Abortion Rom Com I needed to check it out.

Extremely delicate topic. Personal. Private. And little to find in the way of laughs. But apparently director Gillian Robespierre found a way to make a romantic comedy on the subject. Saturday Night Live's Jenny Slate -- aka the girl who dropped the F-bomb on SNL's premiere -- stars in the 20 minute short.

It's called Obvious Child and it touches on the subject of unplanned pregnancy, abortion, and relationships.

What do you think of a romantic comedy on the subject of abortion?

Wow... There's was nothing funny about that video. I expected to find it pretty tasteless, which is was. I think I chuckled once when she told him his pee smells like Cheetos but that was it.

Abortion is not funny. A RomCom? I knew they were "odd" in Hollywood but this is way beyond wierd,IMO.

Doudy...

Sorry, abortion is not a funny subject, no matter what, it's murder. Not to mention how awful the movie is anyway...
