I always love going to see movies that are based off of my favorite books.

I mean, just think of the list of blockbusters from this year alone that are from great novels.

sweetpea532 asked fellow moms to tell what book they have read lately that they wish was made into a movie and who should be the lead.

Mommy2Mariah says, "I'm reading a memoir right now called A Piece of Cake by Cupcake Brown and I would love to see this as a movie. I'm not done yet, but it is very good so far. I don't' know who would play the girl, maybe someone up and coming.

casperskitty's favorites have already all been turned into movies. "Many of the books I have read recently have been made into movies. Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, Stardust. I actually read Stardust because I loved the movie so much."

mmmommy0207 says, "Kiss of Shadows by Laurell K. Hamilton would make a great movie. But the special effects would be so expensive, there's no way a production company would want to pick it up!"

What about you? What book do you think would transfer well into a movie? Who should star in it?

JR Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood books!  I would love to see them turned into a movie or series.

Honestly I don't have any in mind.  I am a book lover and I am always let down by the movie remakes.  With the exception of a very few movies....  Hollywood tends to screw it all up.  My imagination is way better than any movie could be.. :)

The Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich.  Great books and they would be great movies even though the movie never lives up to the book!

None.  I love books, but more often than not the movies do not do them justice.  I think Hollywood needs to start getting creative again and coming up with some original ideas.

Dorthy- Hatchet was made into a movie, we watched it in school after reading the book. I dont remember the exact title but it was something like "A Cry in the Wild, The Hatchet" it follows the book almost exactly. A few gross scenes though.. like when he swims into the airplane to get the food out and the pilot is still strapped into his seat.. its very gross/gory. Scared me as a kid!

Found it on Netflix... Its called "A cry in the wild" it was out in 1990.

"When a pilot suffers a heart attack, his plane plummets into the Canadian wilderness. The only survivor is a 12-year-old boy named Brian (Jared Rushton), who learns to grow up fast as he fends for himself while living among wolves, bears and other threats. Based on the popular children's book Hatchet by Gary Paulsen (who cowrote the screenplay), the film earned a Gold Medal from the National Wildlife Association."

if any Laurell K Hamilton book gets turned into a movie, please oh please let it be one of the Anita Blake books! As for who would play her, I have no idea... But damn, that would be great!

I'm still waiting for Angels and Demons by Dan Brown to come out, oooh and his newest book should be turned into a movie too, The Lost Symbol.

Christopher Pike's "Thirst" series would blow Twilight out of the water.  Mark my words, it's coming!
