Every year growing up, I'd wake up early and, as my mom prepared Thanksgiving dinner, I'd sit in front of the TV and watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
This year, for the first time, I'm actually staying in New York instead of flying to my hometown in Tennessee and will be checking out the famous parade in person (very excited!).
Though the balloon characters have changed (Charlie Brown for Dora the Explorer), I still get all nostalgic when I think about the parade.
Do you and your kids watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade on Thanksgiving morning? What's your favorite balloon or float?

I always watch. My kids are don't really get it yet, but they are getting better. They recognize the character balloons now so that makes it a little more interesting for them. I still let them watch something else on another TV though if they get really antsy.
so far i have missed the parades the last 3 years mainly because we keep on waking up late, lol, but if it possible i will leave an alarm clock and wake up my girl to watch it, we got tickets for the 4th of july fireworks thanks to a friend of my moms but we weren't able to get tickets for the parade (it was the only way i was going to go with my daugther) so i'll wake her up and watch it together =-D

Every year!!! Last year my son whined a bit when I turned off cartoons to put it on but then he loved it! I am hoping to get to watch it this year with NO whining!
We always used to leave for my grandparents during a commercial so that we wouldn't miss anything (they lived about 2 minutes away!)
