Map of flu shot locations in my city.
Do you know where to find flu shot providers in your area?
Google has developed the Flu Shot Finder, a new mapping tool to show you vaccine locations for both seasonal flu and H1N1 swine flu. How does it work?

In an effort to combat the spread of H1N1 flu, an Italian has invented an electronic holy water dispenser, which functions like the automatic soap dispensers found in public restrooms. (Click link to view.)
This is good news for me whether it's flu season or not—those communal holy water fonts always grossed me out!
So how does it work? Churchgoers wave their hands under a sensor and the machine spurts out holy water. See? Awesome!

CafeMom RaeLynn1221 does not vaccinate her children against the seasonal flu, nor did she want her little girl immunized against H1N1. She just doesn't believe the illness is as bad as the media is making out to warrant it.
And yet, the school vaccinated her daughter without her consent. There have been stories of this happening other places, but this is the first I've heard involving a CafeMom.
RaeLynn1221 is sharing her experience her to let other moms know that while it may not be common, mistakes are being made:

Many CafeMoms are in no rush to line up for the controversial swine flu vaccine. Some say the Obamas weren't either. Malia and Sasha apparently waited two weeks to get their shots along with other school children in Washington D.C. Seems like a non-issue, right?
Some people are commenting on blogs and the web that the Obama girls got preferential treatment for access to the vaccine, given to them by the White House doctor last week.
It started when a man from Texas, with two compromised special needs kids living in his home, complained he hasn't been able to get the vaccine for the children, who would be given priority over healthy children. But different areas are getting the vaccine at different times. There's no shortage in Washington, D.C.

Of the adults and children who have been hospitalized for H1N1 ( the swine flu), nearly one-third have asthma. That might be scary news if you or your children have this chronic lung condition. But there's no reason to panic. Here's what you can do instead...

Swine flu vaccinations are well underway in most parts of the country for those who wish to get vaccinated.
Getting the vaccine is a personal choice. However, what about the people who care for your children? If you're pro-vaccination, will you recommend that your child care provider, babysitter, or nanny gets the swine flu vaccination as well? And what if she or he says no?

momof2little1s and her family
Last summer, CafeMom momof2little1s personally endured a swine flu horror story at 34 weeks pregnant. Although, she and her now four-month old daughter Molly are fine today, they both survived a flu-driven nightmare no family ever wants to face.
So momof2little1s is here today to share her story and talk about her decision to get her two toddler daughters the swine flu vaccination.

A healthy diet is an important part of protecting yourself during the cold and flu season (especially now with so much concern surrounding the H1N1 flu). Experts believe the following 10 foods (as part of a well-balanced diet) can help boost your immune system so it can fight off the cold and flu "bugs."

It's hard enough deciding whether our kids will get one shot of the swine flu vaccine, let alone two. But that's what the makers of the inoculation are saying most kids under 10 will need for it to be effective.
It's like the first time your baby got the seasonal flu shot. The pediatrician has to administer two doses of the flu vaccine about a month apart for full immunity to develop.
