Lots of CafeMoms are talking about the strange items their kids brought home in their trick or treat bags on Halloween night?
Apparently, a lot of your neighbors are WEIRD, mamas, cause there were some WEIRD things in those bags! LOL.
Here's some of the strangest finds...

Forget what I said the other day about throwing away the Halloween candy, especially since everyone started yelling at me. I'm now going to keep it all. But not all for eating. I'm going to do candy experiments on it with my first-grader instead. Cafe Sheri had the same idea in Toddler Buzz, plus more ideas for what to do with leftover candy.
Here's the first one I'm going to do with M&Ms:

I saw so many Harry Potters, Michael Jacksons and Kate Gosselins this weekend, for both kids and adults.
Hollywood is always such a good source of inspiration for costume ideas

My husband and I took our 6 year old and 4 year old trick or treating in a friend's city neighborhood, where you knock on brownstone after brownstone, so needless to say, they cleaned up. We could have used a crane to load the plastic jack-o-lantern baskets into the car.
Today, however, their stashes are mysteriously ... lighter. Hmm. Wonder how that happened? Truth be told the garbage man will notice the trash bags are considerably heavier at pickup this week. Yes, I'm one of those moms that tosses candy. Out of sight, out of mind, for me as well as my already hyper kids.
But not all moms are candy tossing fanatics like me.

I just ate the last Newman's O cream filled chocolate cookie. There was only one left -- if there were more, I'd still be chewing. And that's the problem...if there are sweets in the house, I will eat them. Remove the treats, remove the temptation.
But today is Halloween. Which means candy, candy, candy, candy everywhere.

Twins parents-to-be!
I know some people may think this is absolutely weird, but I had a Halloween-themed baby shower.
I'm actually having two baby showers. (Hey, I'm having twins!) One is for friends, the other is for family.
My friend baby shower happened last weekend and we had it at my house. My husband and I just moved into a new place and we wanted to have a housewarming, but with the babies coming, we thought we could do it all together. My sister took care of a lot of things for me and we had a lot of fun planning it.

Halloween is almost here! Are you ready for all the trick-or-treaters to come tomorrow?
When I was little, I used to dread Halloween each year—first, because I hated the homemade costumes my mom would always make for my sister and I. And, second, because it embarrassed me that we were the only house that handed out healthy treats (raisins and granola bars).
I wanted a plastic-y store-bought costume! I wanted to give trick-or-treaters giant Hershey bars bigger than my head!

When my mom was pregnant with me, my due date was October 26th. It came and went, and doctors wanted to induce her on Halloween. She didn't want to have a Halloween baby, so she waited a couple of days. I was born on November 2nd. She shared "our" birth story and it was great to know what she went through with me, especially now that I am pregnant with my firsts. Twins.
Even though my mom and I don't talk about it much, we are both very superstitious. And what's funny is that Halloween is one of my favorite days of the year -- I love dressing up. I'd like to think that maybe I was having my own Halloween party in my mom's womb back then. I didn't want to come out until I was done.
Sometimes though, being born on a day that people celebrate can be challenging for the mom.

Photo from The Tyra Banks Show
On today's Tyra, Tyra Banks is dressing up as a few different celebrities -- one of them being Kim Kardashian.
Not too far a stretch, I think.
Both women are sexy and curvy. And both of them always look great. Though Tyra gets to work closely with the gorgeous Nigel Barker. And Kim dates the adorable Reggie Bush.
