The Los Angeles Times recently reported that the recession may be leading to an increase in unintended pregnancies.
Why?

Dr. Michael Roizen
I recently had a chance to speak with Dr. Michael Roizen on the the phone. I was psyched. He's the doctor who's been on Oprah for years with his RealAge tips.
You must take the RealAge quiz. I was shocked when I did it recently.
These days, he appears on TV with his co-author, Dr. Oz. Their latest book is You, Being Beautiful.
According to Dr. Roizen, we are what we eat. Here are some of Dr. Roizen's tips on nutrition for staying beautiful.

Would you pose on the cover of People magazine in a bikini?
I would not.
If you lost weight and all of a sudden had a killer buff bod, would you do it?
I still would not. I have issues involving bikinis. Issues like I'll never ever wear a bikini as long as I live so help me dear sweet Jesus. I am way too pale and freckly, and besides, I can't afford plastic surgery.
But Valerie Bertinelli did pose on the cover of People in a cute green bikini, as I just read over on Mrs. Mogul. This bikini is green, of course, to depict my jealously.
Valerie Bertinelli looks amazing.

I saw these people on Oprah yesterday who do extreme dieting. They believe they'll live longer by practicing the calorie restriction diet.
They eat the minimum amount of food to stay alive. Some eat just 1,000 to 1,950 calories per day.
The surprising thing is, Dr. Oz says this diet may work. These dieters may have found the fountain of youth. But my question is, without eating food, who would want to live a long time?
I love my food.

Did you see him on Oprah yesterday? Steve Harvey for sure.
But what about his new book, Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man?
It offers Rules-like, old-fashioned advice to all ladies regarding love. My favorite rule is: Wait 90 full days--that's 3 months--before having sex with a new guy.
Is it just me being a floozy, or is 90 days a really long time? I think it's a great idea. It's just that 3 months can seem like forever when you're having fun with a new man.

I just read that we start getting old at age 27.
I'm almost 35. Does this mean I need to call the funeral home and start planning my arrangements?

Driving while texting or emailing is a really bad idea.
But I got busted doing just that yesterday.
It was a beautiful spring day in New Jersey, and I rolled my car window halfway down. I had both earbuds in my ears just in case my Dear Husband called from his business trip. In my state, you can only talk on the phone using a hands-free device.
I was stopped at an intersection where the red light takes a long time.
So I did something naughty. I hit a button and checked my email.

Did you catch Oprah yesterday? Montel Williams started off the show with a Public Display of Emotion (PDE). He cried about his MS and his depression.
His health problems are obviously devastating. I can't imagine living with multiple sclerosis--or serious, suicidal depression.

Barack Obama is our Commander-in-Chief, but it's Michelle who is the Mom-in-Chief. Author Jamie Woolf says we all can be Mom-in-Chief of our personal domains. Let's all say it together: I'm a Mom-in-Chief!
Jamie's new book, Mom-in-Chief: How Wisdom from the Workplace Can Save Your Family from Chaos, sounds like music to my Barney-deaf ears. Lately, I feel like Poop-Cleaner-in-Chief. Or maybe I'm Short-Order-Cook-in-Chief.
But I'm inspired to learn from this book, and also from Michelle Obama. I wonder if the First Lady will entertain Southeast Asian world leaders right after helping Sasha with her spelling homework.
I put together some Mom-in-Chief tipstaken from the First Lady's example, along with other moms, so we can not only take care of our family, but ourselves, too.
