The other day, the potentially oldest woman in the world Sakhan (Sarah) Dosova turned 130. One hundred and thirty. That's a lot of candles. According to her passport (she's from Kazakhstan), Sarah was born on March 27, 1879—that's the year Thomas Edison invented the light bulb, and both Joseph Stalin and Albert Einstein were born. Sarah was married twice and has ten children (three are still alive). What's the secret to her longevity?
Sarah attributes her good health and long life to:
1. Staying away from sweets
2. Never taking any medications (when she was sick she used herbs and followed her granny's recipes)
3. Eating a lot of cheese and yogurt
4. A good sense of humor
"We need to be happy in our life, only then we won't notice the years going by," said Sarah. "Playing or speaking to a great person brings more health than all the medications you can take."
Just think, if you're around 30 now you could still have another 100 years to live.
Would you like to live to be 130? And more importantly, would you give up sweets to do it?

Living that long means that you would have attended many funerals of loved ones, including possibly your children. I'm shooting for 90.
I would love to live til 130 and that is my prayer every time I think about it and that is often... even if it is til 110 or 99 I would be very happy with that... I pray for longevity. I do not take meds unless I have to and that is like not often. the last time I took meds was 1996 and now for my cycle changes, the herbs I was taking was not helping or I just did not get the concoction right... and I was servery Anemic. So I had to get vitamin help and eat more Iron rich foods and some hormonal help.... so I am with her with the No MEDS thing... I tell you as a Nurse and an herbalist one Med that you get from your DR. Helps one thing but messes up 4 organs.... liver, kidneys and heart.... and drink lots of water and eat lot of veggies....
If I could live that long and be healthy, that would be great! I try to share my health tips with family but most of them like doing the same ole. Advice goes to the wind. I'll miss them, but I plan on having a wonderful rest of my life. Now age 61, love hobbies such as painting, traveling, etc.
Sure I would! My grandmother is still living and doing for herself and she is about to turn 92. My mom is still very active as well and she is about to turn 70. I am 48 and falling apart! Go figure!
If I had to stay away from sweets, no way!, but otherwise, sure! As long I was buried before my children

No way. You would lose everyone around you, including your children. That's me being selfish....or is it selfish to want to live that long?
