Many moms — even if we believe it's good for our mental health and helps us to stay happier — don't, won't, or can't find a way to regularly take time for ourselves.
This time away from the kids — otherwise known as "alone time," "you time," "escape from kid mountain time," or "mama needs a cocktail time" — often falls by the wayside in our busy lives.
Do you do take "me" time? Do you make getting out and taking that precious time for yourself a priority?
Take our poll and tell us why or why not.
Feel free to expand on your answer about "me" time in the comments below.
If you take regular time outs for yourself, tell us your favorite things to do. If you don't take time away, why won't you, don't you, or can't you take time for yourself?

I wish it seems like everytime i try to have time alone the kids were sick that night, dh had to work that weekend (he doesn't know he works weekends until friday night). And all of my friends are moms and need more then a nights notice to go out. I gave up years ago (2.5 years ago)

My best friend (she has 2 girls) and I usually head out on either a Friday or Saturday night by ourselves and go dancing while my husband watches our daughter. One night a week my mom will watch our daughter so hubby and I can go hang out with friends or head to a concert or whatever. And hubby is always available to watch our daughter for me if I need to do anything, or take a nap because I am so exhausted from life. Life is definitely easier when I can take even just a few minutes for myself.
