Before I got pregnant, I hardly ever ate breakfast. Give me a cup of coffee and I was good to go. Lots of you are like me -- when asked if you have time to eat breakfast, 32 percent said no.
Some say breakfast is the most important meal of the day -- and that's for good reason. Simply put: It's all about energy. But it turns out that eating two eggs a day for your first meal can help you lose weight.
Natural Solutions magazine mentioned a study by the International Journal of Obesity that said eating two eggs a day for breakfast helps you lose 65 percent more weight and gain more energy than a bagel of equal calories.
Eggs have protein -- you feel full faster and stay full longer. Worried about cholesterol? Nikhil Dhurandhar, PhD, lead researcher of the study says, "If you are eating a low-fat diet overall and don't have a history of high cholesterol, a couple of eggs a days aren't likely to hurt you"
Also, you shouldn't do egg whites all the time. The yolk has about 40 percent of the egg's protein as well as antioxidants that are key in preventing macular degeneration.
Natural Solutions suggests cooking your eggs with canola or olive oil (instead of butter) and eat with low-fat yogurt, fruit, black beans, veggies, or whole wheat toast instead of greasy bacon, sausage, or home fries.
Who is having eggs for breakfast now? Will you still skip breakfast knowing this information?

eggs are one of my downfalls...hardboiled, fried, poached, scrambled. that's the trouble. once i start i can't stop. my grandmother considered them a treat and i take after her.
Skipping breakfast isn't healthy at all. When I used to not eat breakfast I ended up overeating for the rest of the day. Now that I eat my oatmeal and fruit every morning I'm much more able to keep my eating in check.
I have the bacon, or sausage with eggs and a piece of fruit eating cerals, toast or higher carb will make you tired quickly what happens is when you eat carbs in the morning or alot of carbs you create your insulin to go up which raised your blood sugar and then you drop energy quickly where if you have a higher protein breakfast and low carbs through out the day you will lose weight I have lost 68 lbs in less than a year I feel great and have alot more energy I did this under a doctors supervision and I feel great really I suggest fruit, veggies, and protein and little carb you will be more energized and feel healthier.
I eat all the carbs I want and I've lost 80 lbs. in a year as well. Our bodies really NEED carbs...they just need good carbs, not bad carbs (which is what you'll find in pretty much anything white).
That is awesome aurorabunny that is great I'm sure you feel a heck alot better I have lost 68 and I don't know if I am ready for the whole wheat I just don't want to gain it all back I assume the good carbs would be your whole wheat, whole grains, fruits, etc. how long did it take you to lose the 80
Yep! Complex carbs (veggies, whole grains, whole wheat bread, whole wheat pasta) are really necessary to your body for energy. Simple carbs like cookies, cakes, stuff with sugar is what you really want to avoid.
It took me about a year. :)
Once you get into a routine, it's easy to eat right. Once you realize how nasty some foods are, you don't want (some of) them anymore. I eat breakfast and dinner sitting down, with my kids every day. We rarely get lunch together. If we wait for Daddy to get home, we eat too late!
I'm terrible about not eating breakfast. But I do love eggs! Going to make a better effort to eat breakfast! Specially since eggs will help me lose some weight!!

If I do eat breakfast, and that's a big IF, I eat a hard boiled egg and wheat toast...I like to think I'm being healthy...
