'The Biggest Loser:' Did You Bawl Your Eyes Out?

October 28, 2009 at 9:02 AM by Cafe Kim - Comments (7)

(SPOILER alert! But not until after the jump.) I had to rehydrate last night after all the tears I shed about you-know-who's departure on The Biggest Loser...but first a quick recap: The Blue Team won the first challenge and got to determine which contestants would face-off against each other in the weigh-in. Then, the Black Team won a baseball challenge, giving them a 2-pound advantage in the weigh-in.

So why was I so sad?

Because I adore Abby and wasn't ready for her to go home yet. I started crying when she was talking about her family loss with Jillian, and then by the time she sacrificed herself to her team at the end, I lost it! After watching her update, it seems like it was OK for her to leave when she did—she has lost so much weight and is now a motivational speaker. I am really inspired by Abby, not only by her example of being healthy but also in terms of overcoming challenges and living life to the fullest.

Whew.

Some of my other thoughts about the episode:

  • Is it just me, or are the women on the Blue Team starting to bug? They are just too cocky and trashy-talky to me.
  • I continue to luuuuve Rudy. Congrats to him for breaking Dane's record and losing 100 pounds in 7 weeks! Go, Rudy!
  • What is going on with Daniel? Why can't he seem to lose any weight?

What did you think of last night's episode?

Every time Abby has mentioned her family I have cried. I couldn't imagine going through something that horrible. I'm glad the show helped her and she looked really good when they shot the follow up at the end.

Tears streamed from my face. What a wonderful woman Abby is. I adore her!

I totally have a TV crush on Rudy.

I am so nervous to find out what Jillian unearths from Daniel. I have a feeling there is an emotional reason he isn't losing weight like the others.

Thanks for the recap!!  Missed it last night because the first basketball game of the season was being televised on the same channel!!!  Urg!!  Could've watched the last half hour but it was reading time with my youngest and that's just not something I pass on.  I adore Abby, too.  Glad to hear that she is moving forward in such a positive way.  Sounds like I missed a real cry fest!

Yes I agree with your thoughts. I really did not want abby to go home. Everytime I think about what she has been through I bawl my eyes out. If i was in her situation I am not I would have the strength and grace that she has to carry on. She is an inspiration

I pretty much cried every time Abby has spoken of her family. She has lived though every mother's nightmare. I can't imagine!

God Bless Abby, she is an AMAZING woman.  Like vetchick said, I doubt I would have had the strength to continue!

Rudy rocks.  He is my vote for the overall win :)
